50 viral hooks for Reels and TikTok — in English and Arabic.
A video hook is the first line you say and the first thing on screen. Most Reels die there: the viewer decides in about three seconds whether to keep watching, and the feed never shows your best moment if they are already gone. This guide collects the opening lines we ship in our free hook pack — ten pattern-break hooks in English, three selling hooks, and the same thinking in Gulf Arabic — plus how to fill the brackets so the line sounds like you, not a template.
The full pack of 50 — including Egyptian and Levantine dialects — is free on the ViralHook AI landing page when you join the waitlist.
Ten curiosity hooks that break the scroll (English)
These work because they interrupt a pattern the viewer is tired of. Fill the brackets with something specific — a real number, a real product, a real pain — because “something” kills a hook and “$38” keeps it alive.
I almost didn’t post this.
Follow with the mistake you made so the story earns the confession.
Nobody talks about [topic] — so I will.
Name the taboo plainly, then give one example.
If your [thing] isn’t working, stop doing this.
Show the wrong way in the first shot.
This took me 3 years to learn. You get it in 30 seconds.

The 10-second version of [big topic].
Actually deliver it fast — the promise is the pacing.
You’re one sentence away from [outcome].
Say the sentence out loud — it should be the hook itself.
Selling hooks (English)
Selling hooks get straight to the product. Use them when the video exists to sell, not to teach — and always show a real detail of the thing, never a promise about it.
I sold [number] of [product] with one line. Here it is.
Put the line on screen as you say it.
This is what [price] looks like.
Reveal the product after a two-beat pause.
Don’t buy [product] until you see this.
Show the flaw in the popular option first.

How to fill the brackets so it sounds like you
- Name one real thing. Not “a product” but “the $12 eyebrow pencil I buy every month”. Specific beats universal every time.
- Keep the first word and change everything else if it feels borrowed. A hook you would not say to a friend will sound wrong out loud.
- Film the tip in the first shot, not the promise. If the hook says “show the flaw first”, the flaw is literally frame one.
- Write three versions, film one. The other two usually become next week’s videos.
